AAA predicts over four million Americans are expected to fly this Thanksgiving holiday.

We spoke with some travelers heading out of town the day before Thanksgiving.

“I’m going to San Francisco to visit family," Sheila Boin told News Channel 3.

We met with another family as they were checking their luggage in, also heading to northern California.

“This is our little guy’s first Thanksgiving so we’re so excited to be able to spend it with family in Sacramento," Rebecca Kirkpatrick said.

One taxi driver outside the airport commented on the busy holiday travel.

“A lot of people are arriving all day long," Bedro Chan said. "It’s very busy," he added.

With the influx in travelers, airport staff were diligent in keeping the flow going.

“This is smooth and easy and I’m really surprised and elated that we can just move freely through," one traveler said.

While some flyers enjoyed the easy lines, others told us they were bracing for a much different story after their connecting flights.

“It hasn't been too bad yet but we are going to O’hare so it’s definitely going to be a lot more intense when we get there," Jack Ruth said. "There's going to be some snow and wind so hopefully no delays but if there is, we have been stranded before," he added.
