Rancho Mirage High School football player, Israel "Izzy" Ramirez is asking the Coachella Valley for continued prayers before heading into his final brain surgery on December 12.

"I just want to thank the whole Coachella Valley for being my main support group through these last few surgeries. Thank you for all the help and support. I have my last surgery this Thursday, December 12 and I would like the whole Coachella Valley to continue to have me in your prayers because if it wasn't from your prayers I wouldn't have made it through the first three surgeries and so I'm going to need all of the support I can get for this one," Ramirez said in a video sent to News Channel 3.

Ramirez underwent three emergency brain surgeries after a sudden brain injury in October. This final surgery will replace a portion of his skull.

There will be a fundraiser this Monday, all day, at Henry Sports Bar and Grill located at 68955 Ramon Rd. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Ramirez's family.
