Riverside police seek public’s help in sexual assault investigation

Police in Riverside are looking for help identifying a suspect who sexually assaulted a woman inside an apartment in Riverside.

The suspect is described as Hispanic around 35 to 40 years old. He is approximately 5 foot 4 inches, and weighs between 180 to 200 pounds. The suspect had dark skin, short dark hair and was last seen wearing dark clothes.

Officials say the assault took place in the 5800 block of Fair Isle Drive in the Sycamore Canyon area around 2:40 a.m. on Wednesday.

The suspect broke into the home and assaulted the woman while her husband was sleeping next to her. The suspect then fled from the apartment when the woman alerted her husband.
