Joshua Tree National Park jammed for the holidays

Joshua Tree

The Joshua Tree National Park is a popular attraction during the holiday season.

It's expected to have huge crowds these upcoming weeks.

The National Park Service says Joshua Tree begins to fill up starting in late December and stays that way through January 1, leaving campgrounds and parking lots very full.

It is advised to avoid driving through peak hours between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Park representatives also say the Twentynine Palms entrance can help dodge that traffic jam.
