Lousiana man arrested for allegedly robbing an elderly woman outside her valley home

A Louisiana man is behind bars for allegedly robbing an elderly woman outside a Coachella Valley home last month.

Authorities say a 77-year-old woman was robbed of her jewelry and personal items outside of a home during the early morning hours of November 16, 2019. The woman was returning home from a night of gambling at a local casino.

Investigators from the Thermal Sheriff's Station were able to identify Joseph Perry Johnson, 41 as the person allegedly responsible for the robbery.

Johnson was arrested at a residence in Indio on Christmas Eve. He has been booked at Indio jail on charges of robbery and elder abuse.
