#30Strong’s Izzy Ramirez throws a football for the first time in four months
The Rancho Mirage High School student-athlete we’ve been following since last year, Israel "Izzy" Ramirez is making incredible strides in his recovery after the five severe brain surgeries he had in 2019.
We met with Izzy to see how his recovery is going in the new year.
He told News Channel 3, he plans to go to the gym five days a week for about an hour and will keep up his physical therapy twice a week for an hour as well.
“It felt great," Ramirez told us after his first time working out in a gym. "It felt just great to be back where I feel natural," he added.
It’s amazing to see how well he’s doing after undergoing an unplanned emergency surgery, which we brought to you as breaking news not even a month ago on December 15.
"This is the first time I’ve been back in the gym in four and a half months and the first time I’ve thrown a football in four and a half months as well. I’m just ready to get back out there,” he said.
Keep staying 30 strong Izzy. We love to see how strong you’re getting!
