The American Express golf tournament tees off Thursday in La Quinta with some of the sport's biggest stars in our desert to compete on the PGA TOUR.
This year's 156 player field is one of the strongest we've seen in some time and that's a tribute to Phil Mickelson in his new role as tournament host and the tournament's new title sponsor, American Express.
There's a lot of excitement around this tournament as play will start on Thursday with the first round.
Among the stars in the field is local standout Charlie Reiter for the 3rd consecutive time. Sports Director Blake Arthur had the chance to catch up with Reiter on Monday as he prepares to play on the PGA TOUR in his hometown.
