Woman fatally struck by minivan in Indian Wells identified

A woman who was fatally struck by a minivan in Indian Wells on Friday night has been identified.

22-year-old Yucca Valley resident Leah Meyers-Mccracken was struck near the intersection of Cook Street and Highway 111 at around at 9:43 p.m., according to the Riverside County Coroner's Bureau. Her time of death is listed as 9:50 p.m.

The driver of the minivan, a 41-year-old woman from Palm Desert, was questioned on scene by law enforcement and released.

Meyers-Mccracken was in the roadway at the time of the collision according to RSO. It is not known if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
