Kirk Douglas has died. He was 103.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anne Buydens, and his three sons, Michael and Joel.

Michael Douglas confirmed his father's passing to People magazine.

"It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that Kirk
Douglas left us today at the age of 103," Michael Douglas said in a statement to People.

Kirk formerly owned a home in Palm Springs. The residence, which is no longer owned by the Douglas family, is still rented out as "the Kirk Douglas Estate".

Douglas' namesake also can be found on the primary road that navigates Palm Springs International Airport, Kirk Douglas Way.

Palm Springs Mayor Geoff Kors released a statement on Douglas' passing:

“The City of Palm Springs is saddened to learn of the passing of one of our most famous part-time residents Kirk Douglas, a legend of the silver screen who helped put Palm Springs on the international stage. Kirk and his family celebrated many family milestones at their historic home in Old Las Palmas -- and they have had a long love affair with our city. In fact, Kirk is so beloved by our residents we re-named the main thoroughfare at Palm Springs international Airport in his honor. On behalf of the citizens of Palm Springs, we send our deepest condolences to Kirk’s wife Anne and the entire Douglas family.”
