Pierre Cardin honored with Palm Springs star

Pierre Cardin's legacy is forever emblazoned on the Palm Springs sidewalk.

The futurist designer's star dedication on February 20 was well-attended, appropriately placed in the thick of Modernism Week. The star, the 440th addition to the Palm Springs Walk of the Stars, was dedicated at the corner of West Tahquitz Canyon Way and North Palm Canyon Drive.

Palm Springs Mayor Geoff Kors spoke for the ceremony and presented a city proclamation to Rodrigo Basilicati, the general manager artistic director for Pierre Cardin Paris, and great-nephew to the prolific designer.
