Traffic collision blocks traffic on Morongo grade
A collision on State Highway 62 brought traffic to a crawl between Desert Hot Springs and Morongo Valley Tuesday morning.
The head-on wreck was reported at 7:29 a.m. but involved only minor injuries.
Traffic on Highway 62 was backed up in both directions on the Morongo grade and past the town of Morongo for more than 3 miles.
The California Highway Patrol reported reopening the roadway at 8:50 a.m. and said traffic was beginning to clear.
