I-10 slow through Banning due to construction and lane closures

traffic alert

Eastbound traffic was at a crawl on Interstate 10 eastbound in Banning Tuesday morning due to Caltrans work.

Three traffic lanes were closed to motorists at 22nd Avenue at 7:00 a.m. and the closure was expected to continue for four hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Traffic was backing up for more than two miles in the eastbound lanes to the west of South Highland Springs Avenue. Westbound freeway traffic was not impacted by the eastbound number 1, 2, and 3 lane closures.

Plan ahead and give yourself extra time if you're headed east toward the Coachella Valley Tuesday morning.
