Valley nail salons, tattoo shops, and other personal care businesses reopen

Many nail salons, tattoo shops and other personal care businesses in the valley are now open after the governor gave them the green light last week.

“You have no idea," said Debra Suttner, Owner of All About You Hair &Nail Salon in Palm Springs. "Its kinda of a mix emotion because you want to make sure that you are doing everything you’re suppose to do and that you’re keeping everybody safe.” 

Salon owner, Debra Suttner said she’s running her salon differently.

“When you walk in the door, first you will sanitize your hands and we will be taking your temperature," said Suttner.

Suttner said she’s only taking appointments but customers will notice a re-arranged salon. 

“My reception area used to be over here not its over here so we could spread out a little bit, " said Suttner. "You can’t touch the polishes, you will need to have assistance.” 

One loyal customer couldn’t wait to come in. 

“I am so happy to show you i didn’t cheat just look at my nails." said Lynda Dest.

Heatstroke Tattoo Shop already back to the swing of things. 

“We are very excited, we have had so many phone calls and so many messages on social media are begging to come back in," said Steve Guerra.

Shop owner, Steve Guerra said although he's had an influx of calls coming in, he’s waiting to fill up his calendar. 

“We’re taking our time, spacing our the appointments to make sure we don’t have a crowd of people in the tattoo shop," said Guerra.

Guerra said customers will see. 

“One appointment per artist per day," said Guerra. "We do have materials that we can use such as sleeves for the arms, aprons, and we’re obviously wearing masks and we do have gloves.” 

One customer couldn't wait to get her tattoo done.

“Pretty great honestly, I have been waiting it for quite sometime," said Chelsea Clark. "The environment feels better.”
