Multiple victims in overnight shooting

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department said they responded to an overnight shooting in Thermal at around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

They said they responded in the area of Jackson Street and Airport Boulevard.

Officials said there were four victims, two of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries. They also said the suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived and has not been found yet.

The cause of the shooting is still under investigation

Some nearby residents said they're anxiously waiting for more answers and are worried this might happen again.

Nearby resident, Ismael Angulo, had just arrived from out of town with his family when he said he heard the commotion.

"There was just a line of people, a lot of cars, and just concerned- I guess family or something, " said Angulo. "And then I noticed this kid kind of running from the scene."

Angulo rode his bike down the block to get closer to the scene but wasn't allowed past officials. He's a father to four kids and he said he is worried for their safety.

"I saw every other house with neighbors talking to each other over the fence and outside the fence and then I was stopped too to be asked," said Angulo. "Everybody was concerned of course because it's a little area."
