LifeStream in need of more platelet donors

During the summer months, the LifeStream sees a stark decline in blood donations.

This week, the organization reported that they're seeing a massive shortage in platelet donations.

Platelets are a clotting agent that are essential for cancer patients.

According to LifeStream, about 50% of their platelet donations go to cancer patients in the valley.

In order to meet the demand of local hospitals, the organization is is calling for 150 donations.

If you would like to donate, you can visit LifeStream's local donation centers in La Quinta or Rancho Mirage.
