Local business faces long road to recovery after storm

For the past eight days, Joe Frazier and a small group of volunteers have been clearing mud and debris from inside his small business, Frazier Pest Control. It took them several days to clear the outside of the building before being able to gain access to it.

The building is located in the Panorama neighborhood of Cathedral City and was severely damaged by storm flooding.

Frazier said while he was forced to stop operations for a few days after the storm hit, he and his team have been able to adapt and get back to work. A number of staff members have been set up to work from home for the foreseeable future.

However, the fate of the office that has been Frazier's main hub for 15 years is uncertain.

In addition, Frazier's insurance will only cover some repair costs and its unclear what the total cost of repairs will be. He said it will likely be between eight months to a year before everything is back to normal.

A page has been set up to raise funds to help offset the cost of clean-up and repairs.
