“Mammo Mondays” return to Desert Regional Medical Center for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Desert Regional Medical Center, or DRMC, is offering extended hours for breast cancer screenings every Monday this month.

Mammogram screenings will be available by appointment from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the annual "Mammo Mondays" event.

It is recommended that men and women begin screening for breast cancer by age 40. Breast cancer screenings are recommended even earlier for those with a family history of the disease.

News Channel 3's Tatum Larsen spoke with Dr. Judy Jackson, the Radiation Oncology Medical Director at DRMC, for more on why people should prioritize getting screened for breast cancer.

Stay with News Channel 3 at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. for more information.
