The California Department of Transportation will begin a $6 million emergency project tomorrow for storm damage repairs, which will require the closure of the eastbound Bob Hope Drive off-ramp on Interstate 10.

The off-ramp is expected to be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. as crews work to construct and replace the dike as California Highway Patrol officers assist with traffic control and safety, according to a statement from the California Department of Transportation.

"The new dike will better address and decrease potential flooding of the highway during inclement weather,'' officials wrote in a statement.

Other work on the off-ramp will include debris removal and clearing culverts and drainage basins so that surrounding communities can once again have highway access.
