The Indio Police Department announced today that 20 arrests were made during the 2023 Power Trip Festival that was held at the Empire Polo Club over the weekend.

Festivalgoers began to arrive as early as last Thursday to load into the campsite, according to Indio Police Department public information officer Ben Guitron.

"With the assistance of our neighboring cities and local law enforcement partners, traffic congestion was kept to a minimum during camping load-in and campers settled in for the weekend festivities,'' Guitron wrote in a statement.

Of the 20 arrests, 15 were for intoxication, three were for unspecified reasons, and one each were for false identification and possession of drugs for sale, according to Guitron.

For comparison, there were 182 arrests during both weekends of Coachella and 98 arrests during Stagecoach.

The Power Trip festival was held from Friday to Sunday and featured performances from Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Metallica and Tool.
