Overnight fire destroys home in Palm Desert
We are starting this morning with breaking news of a structure fire that burned in the city of Palm Desert.
The fire was first reported just after 3 a.m. at Green Mountain Drive.
Cal Fire says the fire burned through the roof of a single-story residential building.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, but there was significant water and smoke damage to two of the neighboring units.
Authorities say that four adults and three children are without a home and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The fire is under investigation and there are no reports of injuries at this time.
