Eisenhower Health showcases AIDS Memorial Quilts ahead of World AIDS Day
Friday is World AIDS Day and Eisenhower Health is raising awareness by unveiling 15 memorial quilts from the National Archives.
2023 marks 35 years since the creation of the AIDS Memorial Quilt Community art project.
Each quilt on display represents an Eisenhower Health employee’s family member, friend, or colleague lost to this disease.
"I have quilts that I treasure that people who have passed have made they made them out of things from our family of people who have actually passed and so I can only imagine what this means to others for those who have lost people and loved ones to aids, what the quilt means to them," said Lydia Vincent, Chest Pain Coordinator at Eisenhower Health
There are more than 500 quilts in the national database for the AIDS Memorial Quilt Project. The 15 quilts from local Eisenhower Health employees will be on display at the Annenberg Health Sciences building from December 4th to the 8th from 9 am to 3 pm.
