Palm Springs Police say they have arrested a suspect for shooting a man at a home in Palm Springs late Friday morning. The shooting happened on Hermosa Drive north of Racquet Club Drive just before 10:00 a.m.

One person was found at the home suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but expected to be OK says Palm Springs Police.

Later Friday afternoon investigators developed information that the suspect was staying at a hotel located on the 1900 block of North Palm Canyon Drive when they located the 56- year old male suspect's car at the hotel.

Palm Springs Police Special Enforcement Unit was called to the scene and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. "Palm Springs Police will book him for attempted murder," says Lt. Araiza. Official charges could be filed by the Riverside County District Attorney's Office later next week.
