PERRY, Iowa (AP) — A day after a 17-year-old student opened fire at a small-town Iowa high school, killing a sixth-grader and wounding five others, the community of Perry is somber. Crime tape still line the campus that Perry High School shares with the town’s middle school, mini memorials have cropped up and classes across the school district are cancelled in favor of counseling. Authorities say one of those wounded in Thursday’s shooting is a school administrator and the suspect was found dead with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators are now looking into possible motives and reviewing the suspect’s social media posts while community members are rallying around each other.
