Cool start to the weekend, slow warming trend ahead

While sunnier skies are expected this weekend, cooler-than-normal temperatures will remain. Daytime highs will reach the mid 60s with overnight lows in the 40s. This might come as good news for those participating in the 26th annual Tour de Palm Springs this weekend!

Wind Advisory is in effect for Western Riverside County and the Inland Empire until 1 p.m. Saturday. Wind gusts could reach near 35-50 mph during this timeframe. The strongest gusts are expected around and below the Cajon Pass. Conditions will remain breezy locally.

An incoming ridge of high pressure will kick off a warming trend by Sunday. It will be a slow climb into the low 70s through Valentines Day, which looks like a great day to make plans outdoors.

There are early indications that more wet weather is on the way late next week. Watch News Channel 3 for incoming details.
