Tanker filled with lemon juice overturns on I-10 near Cactus City rest area

KESQ

A 40-foot tanker filled with lemon juice overturned on Interstate 10 near the Cactus City Rest Area today, prompting a Sigalert to be issued as it blocked the lanes.

Officers responded to the eastbound lanes of the freeway at around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a big rig tanker in the lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Upon arrival, they found the truck lying on its side and blocking both lanes and a Sigalert was issued shortly before 7 a.m., CHP officials said. By around 8 a.m., assistance was requested to siphon out the lemon juice due to the tanker being compromised.

No further information was immediately available.
