Annual Presidents Day Parade hosted by the Riverside County Fair and Date Festival

The Riverside County Fair and Date Festival is hosting its annual Presidents Day parade today, Monday, Feb. 19.

The parade begins at 9:00 a.m. and starts at Miles Avenue and Deglet Noor Street in Downtown Indio, ending at Highway 111 and Rubidoux Street.

The parade features Grand Marshal Douglas Welmas, Chairman for the Cabazon Band of Cahuilla Indians, along with live music, floats, and low rider cars.

County Supervisor Manuel Perez said both the fair and the parade once struggled financially. "It really took quite a bit from the county budget, and so we almost either closed down this fair or moved it to another area," said Perez. "I'm happy to say that's not the case. My plan is to ensure that this fair stays here forever."

The Riverside County Fair and Date Festival is open until Sunday, Feb. 25.
