College of the Desert’s Social Justice Club hosts Election Fair

The Election Fair is the official launch of the club's "Eye on the Election" series, and is the first of many events being held to promote excitement around the upcoming election season. Another goal of the series was to increase civic engagement.

"Many of our students may be eligible to vote in their first election and might need help getting started," according to the Election Fair flyer on the COD student life website.

The event featured free food, drinks and games. Students could also meet some candidates on the ballot and check their voter status. Several informational booths were there, including Equality California and Planned Parenthood Generation Action.

It was held on Tuesday the 27th between 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Palm Desert Campus Amphitheatre.
