N. Indian Canyon, Gene Autry back open through Whitewater Wash

Gene Autry Trail was closed at the wash due to blowing sand and low visibility Wednesday morning, according to Palm Springs Police.

Indian Canyon Drive was also closed briefly at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday but reopened to traffic within an hour.

Drivers can use Indian Canyon Drive, Vista Chino Road, Ramon Road, Dinah Shore Drive, or Highway 111 to get in and out of Palm Springs, but expect extra traffic congestion and give yourself extra time to get where you're going.
