BALTIMORE (AP) — Massive barges carrying cranes are heading to Baltimore to begin the challenging work of removing twisted metal and concrete from the collapsed bridge that’s blocking a key shipping route. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore promised Thursday that “the best minds in the world” are working on plans to clear the debris and move the cargo ship that struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge from the channel. The devastation is so extensive that officials said they’d need to start clearing away the wreckage before resuming the search for the remaining missing workers.
