Woman killed in Thermal crash identified

A woman who died from her injuries after an early afternoon Tuesday crash in Thermal was identified by the Riverside County Coroner's Office Wednesday morning as Perla Reyes Diaz, 22, of Thermal.

The California Highway Patrol reported a call at 11:48 a.m. of a single-vehicle collision in Thermal near Harrison Street and 68th Avenue.

The driver, Reyes Diaz, was headed northbound on Harrison Street when investigators say she lost control of her truck for an unknown reason.

Reyes Diaz was thrown from their vehicle in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
