Coroner identifies woman killed in rollover crash in Thermal

A 52-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Thursday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was first reported at around 4:35 PM on the southbound side of SR-86 north of 70th Avenue. Police say the grey Kia Optima overturned after leaving the roadway towards the right shoulder. The reason for the crash is still under investigation.

Police noted that the driver was not wearing her seatbelt. The woman was pronounced dead at 5:20 PM on the scene. She was identified as Marcia Zarco, a resident of Thermal.
