Supporters host local watch parties for first Harris-Trump Presidential debate

Several groups hosted watch parties for their favorite Presidential nominee, as the two candidates Former President Donald Trump, and Vice President Kamala Harris, squared off in their first debate Tuesday night.

At least five different watch parties were held for different groups to attend.

Some of the republican gatherings included watch parties at Jackalope Ranch in Indio and Kitchen 86 in Palm Desert.

While democrats hosted their own event inside Hunter’s Nightclub in downtown Palm Springs.

After the debate– both sides had a lot to say about the candidates.

“Well, I'm wearing a Kamala Harris t-shirt. However, I really like to think that I came here with an open mind and was hoping that there would be a lot of discussion about the issues. Vice President Harris really did bring some issues to the table and tried to expand on it and expound on it,” said Warren Becker, an attendee at the Hunter's event.

“He talks a little bit too much. Keeps going back to all the illegals coming in,, but I think he's really hammered that point home, and and I think that's a really big issue for a lot of people, and she could have taken care of the problem. And he brought that up. So that was a really good point,” said Mark McerLean, an attendee at the event at Kitchen 86.

Overall, a very highly anticipated evening for both sides– as the candidates talked about their policies and platforms.

Some key topics included discussion on abortion and women’s rights, as well as the hostage situation in Gaza and the war in Ukraine.
