‘Terrorized the Neighborhood’: Indio neighbors describe man accused of killing elderly parents
INDIO, Calif. (KESQ) — We're learning new details about a man accused of killing his elderly parents in Indio.
Kevin James Reddy, 51 is being held without bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, according to jail records.
Reddy faces two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of his parents, both aged 84. Police arrested Reddy following a standoff early Saturday morning at a residence on the 78000 block of Blooming Court in Palm Desert.
Neighbors at the residence of Green Hills Cout in Indio where the bodies of the deceased were discovered, described Reddy as frequently "terrorizing" the neighborhood, recalling several past incidents requiring police intervention at the Green Hills Court home. One neighbor said they provided home security footage documenting such disturbances to police and witnessed authorities removing two bodies from the residence.

The investigation initially began around 4:50 p.m. Friday when Indio police conducted a welfare check at the victims' home on the 45000 block of Green Hills Court. Officers initially found no signs of foul play and no one home.
As their investigation continued police were led to Kevin Reddy in Palm Desert, where he refused officers' commands to exit, resulting in an hours-long standoff involving the Desert Regional SWAT Team. While officers negotiated with Reddy, other investigators forced entry into the Green Hills Court home, where they discovered the elderly couple deceased, both victims of apparent homicide.

According to the Indio Police Department and court records obtained by News Channel 3, Kevin James Reddy has a history of criminal charges including several felonies including an incident that took place at the same Green Hills Court home where the bodies were found. Although both properties involved, including the Palm Desert and Indio home are owned by the deceased couple Kevin was considered to be living at the Indio home in Green Hills Court police said.
Kevin James Reddy is due to see a judge on Wednesday, and police say their investigation continues.
For now, Reddy is being held at the Robert Presley Detention Center on two charges of secondary murder.
