Two people in Desert Hot Springs Shooting, Investigation Ongoing

Two separate people were found in a shooting incident that occurred early this morning in Desert Hot Springs. The incident is still under investigation by the Desert Hot Springs Police Department (DHSPD).

Around 2:15 a.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 12700 block of Avenida Alta Loma. When they arrived, they located one victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center (DRMC) in critical condition.

A second victim was found in a vehicle at the Union 76 gas station located on Indian Canyon Drive, about a mile away. It appears that this victim was also at the scene on Avenida Alta Loma and was being driven to the hospital by friends. This victim was transported to DRMC and is currently in stable condition. At the scene, authorities also confirmed that three dogs were pulled from the vehicle, and all were unharmed.

Investigators are working to determine the connection between the two incidents. According to Desert Hot Springs Police Chief Steven Shaw, “What we determined so far is that we do believe that the vehicle came from this house. We don’t know the relationship between the victim of the gunshot wounds and the victim here at the house. But we do have three people detained currently right now.”

The three individuals were interviewed by detectives to piece together the details of what took place.

At this time, no motive for the shooting has been determined, and there is no indication of any outstanding suspects. Authorities are working to establish a clearer understanding of what transpired during the incident.

The investigation is still ongoing, and police have not yet made any arrests or disclosed further details. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
