Indio resident arrested after allegedly stealing vehicle, property inside

LA QUINTA, Calif. (KESQ) - A 44-year-old vehicle theft suspect arrested in Indio remained in custody today.
Deputies were notified of an allegedly stolen vehicle at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday in the 81500 block of Rancho Santana Drive in La Quinta, according to a Riverside County Sheriff's Department statement.
Officials were led to believe that a GMC Denali was stolen from a residence after the suspect allegedly broke into the garage at about 2:30 a.m., according to the statement, which added that the vehicle was later located near Indio-area casinos by the sheriff's La Quinta Special Enforcement Team.
According to the department, although the vehicle was returned undamaged, there was property missing from inside. The suspect was identified prior to his arrest in the 82100 block of Avenue 50.
A later search of the suspect's residence produced the stolen property, officers claimed. Deputies did not specify what property was allegedly taken.
Inmate records indicate the suspect was booked into Indio's John Benoit Detention Center that evening on suspicion of crimes including burglary, possessing a stolen vehicle and violating probation.
