Gusty winds are picking up today, and expect gusty conditions through Friday night as cooler temps sweep in. Those winds have closed Gene Autry at the Whitewater Wash, so please note that in your morning commute.

We're stuck between a ridge of high pressure and an area of low pressure, which increases wind velocity and will for the next 48 hours or more.

Already air quality has been impacted as blowing sand and dust this morning is causing the AQI numbers to spike.

Winds will be strongest in the evening hours both tonight and tomorrow night.

Winds will ease by Saturday, but do expect gusty and dusty conditions to prevail through Friday night into Saturday morning.
