January is Warming Up with 80s on Deck this Week!
We hit our first 70s of the year Sunday and continue our warming trend into this weekend and next week. Our warm weather is going to keep climbing, trending about 5-10 degrees above average through the extended forecast. Next up our first 80s of 2026 arrive Wednesday! While gorgeous, above average conditions are the big weather story here SoCal is still dealing with periods of gusty, but localized, Santa Ana winds—mainly outside the valley in the passes and mountain slopes. Strongest winds continue around the Cajon Pass and San Diego County.

Winds should begin easing considerably tonight and overnight. However, our offshore flow continues for a few more days which has been contributing to our drier, warmer weather. With little to no clouds to insulate us and trap our heat, some wind sheltered locations will see colder lows overnight. For now, very little day to day change into next week as high pressure continues to amplify across the Southwest. Our warmest day of the week looks to be Wednesday.

High pressure over the west is will still contribute to our offshore winds, though our pressure gradient begins to weaken and winds ease more this weekend as that ridge pushes farther north.
Should be a nice next few days. Some models are suggesting a return to onshore flow and slightly cooler temperatures late next week, but that’s still a way out. For now… enjoy sunshine and temps 5-10 degrees warmer than normal.
