Local fighter Manny Flores falls by decision in rematch to Jorge Chavez at Acrisure Arena

COACHELLA VALLEY, Calif. (KESQ) -- Golden Boy Promotions put on a show Friday night at Acrisure Arena, hosting the first boxing event of its kind.
Two local fighters were featured on the card, Manny Flores and Cayden Griffiths.
Flores, co-headlining this historic event in his hometown, lost by unanimous decision to Jorge Chavez in a rematch from their controversial draw in July at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio.

With the loss, the Coachella native Flores drops to 20-2-1 in his career.

19-year-old phenom Cayden Griffiths won his respective fight by unanimous decision, improving to 7-0 (6 KO).

A rising star in the sport, Griffiths said after the fight that this wasn't his best performance, but he will continue to learn as his career goes on.
