Two killed in Thermal shooting Wednesday night

THERMAL, Calif. (KESQ) - Two people were killed in a shooting Wednesday night in Thermal.

The shooting was first reported at a little after 11:30 p.m. on the 67000 block of Polk Street. Deputies were dispatched to the area after a report of two dead people at the location, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.

"Upon arrival, deputies located evidence of a shooting and two subjects who were pronounced deceased at the scene," an RSO spokesperson wrote.

There are no suspects in custody. The investigation remains ongoing.

The incident also marks the first homicide of the year in the Coachella Valley.
