29-year-old man killed in motorcycle crash in Thermal

THERMAL, Calif. (KESQ) - The coroner's office has identified a 29-year-old man killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a sedan on Tuesday morning in Thermal.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6 a.m. on Pierce Street, near 59th Avenue.

Investigators say a man riding a Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound when he collided with a Subaru sedan driving southbound. CHP says the driver of the Subaru turned left into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. He was identified by the coroner's office as Salvador Torres Garcia, 29, of Thermal.

The driver of the Subaru was not injured.

Pierce Street was closed for several hours during the investigation, but has since reopened. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
