Jackie the bald eagle to be honored during Ontario Tower Buzzers game

ONTARIO, Calif. (KESQ) - A special night honoring Jackie the Big Bear bald eagle will be held on Sunday evening at the Ontario Tower Buzzers game, the Single-A Minor League affiliate for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“Fly High Night” is set for Sunday at Ont Field in Ontario. 50% of proceeds from ticket sales in this link on Sunday will go back to the Friends of Big Bear Valley, home of the conservation group who has led the charge for preserving the Bald Eagles' natural habitat.

The event is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. Officials confirmed to News Channel 3 there will be additional events before the game starts, so get there early.

Jackie died on the morning of August 10 following more than three weeks of intensive medical care. She had been battling health issues after being found injured following an apparent altercation with other eagles.
