La Quinta High students serve up gratitude at Feed the Heroes luncheon

LA QUINTA, Calif. (KESQ) — La Quinta High School culinary students are thanking veterans, active duty military members and first responders with a meal they prepared themselves.

The school’s annual Feed the Heroes Luncheon takes place Thursday, Nov. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Culinary Arts Building.

Students are preparing and serving turkey, stuffing, vegetables, homemade bread and pies.

The luncheon also gives students a chance to sit with guests, share a meal and hear about their time in service.

Students from the school’s Public Service Academy and Air Force Junior ROTC are helping greet guests and present the flag. Fifty choir singers are scheduled to perform the National Anthem.
