Road closure in Palm Springs creates traffic backup

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) – Eastbound lanes along E Palm Canyon Drive near Escoba Drive in Palm Springs were closed just after 8:00 p.m. Saturday night.

News Channel 3 crews reported heavy traffic in the area from the road closure. Police officers were seen lighting flares and keeping traffic from heading eastbound. Westbound lanes were not impacted by the closure.

A viewer who called into the newsroom reported a serious crash, but authorities have not confirmed if there was an accident in the area.
