CA assembly passes bill to extend eviction protections, which are set to expire on Thursday

The California state assembly passed a bill that would extend eviction protections for those affected by the pandemic.

The race is on to get the bill on Governor Gavin Newsom's desk before the protections expire on Thursday, July 1.

The assembly passed the bill with a 58 aye to 9 nay vote.

The bill will immediately head to the state senate.
