29-year-old killed when motorcycle collides with DA investigator’s car

MGN

A 29-year-old was killed when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle driven by an on-duty Riverside County District Attorney's investigator in Riverside, police said today.

Riverside Police Department officers and Riverside Fire Department paramedics responded to the intersection of Arlington and Rutland avenues around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a collision, according to RPD spokesman Officer Ryan J. Railsback.

A preliminary investigation led detectives to discover that the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Arlington Avenue while approaching Rutland Avenue moments before he collided with the vehicle driven by the district attorney's investigator, who was making a left turn into a driveway on Arlington Avenue, west of Rutland Avenue, Railsback said.

Detectives determined that speed on the motorcylist's part contributed to the fatal collision.

The motorcyclist's name was withheld pending notification of family members.

The district attorney's investigator was not injured.

Anyone with information regarding the fatal collision was urged to call Traffic Detective Matt Parrish at 951-353-7177. Tipsters can also email information to MWParrish@RiversideCA.gov.
