The state of California is set to distribute $40.5 million in federal funding to build electric vehicle fast-chargers around the state. Governor Gavin Newsom made the announcement this morning, adding the 270 EV chargers will be placed at 26 different sites along highways.

The funding comes from President Biden's "Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act", which will send more than $380 million for the state of California. That money will also be used to create 6,600 miles of EV corridor to make traveling easier and more convenient for electric vehicles. Along that corridor, four fast chargers will be placed every fifty-miles.

So far this year, the California Legislature already set aside more than $10 billion in state funds for zero-emission vehicles, including cars, trucks, and busses with the California Climate Commitment.
