La Quinta burglary suspect arrested after hiding out in Indio neighborhood
A La Quinta burglary suspect was taken into custody Tuesday, accused of also possessing a 10-inch knife, which is a violation of his parole terms.
La Quinta police responded to a residential burglary and vehicle theft Tuesday morning at approximately 10:00 a.m. on the 53800 block of Ross Avenue.

Investigators identified James Harper, 28, of La Quinta as a suspect.
Deputies say they found Harper walking along Jefferson Street at Fred Waring Drive, but he escaped into a near-by neighborhood in the city of Indio.

Police established a perimeter around the area.
Indio Police later located Harper on the 43300 block of Heritage Palms Drive where he was taken into custody.

Deputies say Harper was transported to a local hospital as a precaution and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
He's being held in jail without bail, expected in court next Thursday.
