Man, 3 minors arrested following gang-related search warrants

CCPD

A Cathedral City man and three juveniles were arrested Tuesday after several gang-related search warrants were served throughout Riverside County.

The 28-year-old man was arrested for two outstanding felony warrants, and one girl and two boys were arrested on suspicion of possessing ammunition and firearms, according to Sgt. Mark Robles of the Cathedral City Police Department.

The department's Detective Bureau executed several gang-related search warrants throughout Riverside County at around 6 a.m. Tuesday with several outside agencies and teams including the Coachella Valley Violent Crimes Gang Task Force and Coachella Valley Narcotics Task Force, Robles said.

Several weapons, extended magazines, ammunition, pieces of clothing containing gang insignia, and "ghost" guns were found and confiscated, according to Robles.

The man was booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center in Indio, according to inmate records. It was not immediately clear whether the juveniles were booked into Juvenile Hall.

Robles said that over the years, members of the gang have been involved in many crimes including "robberies, homicides, attempted homicides, assaults with deadly weapons, burglaries, the sale of narcotics, thefts, and other crimes."

"Many of these crimes have been and continue to be committed for the benefit of, at the direction of, and in association with other members of the gang," Robles wrote.

Anyone with information related to the investigation was asked to call the department at 760-770-0300 or Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers anonymously at 760-341-7867.
