PSPD Impact Unit arrests 8 people after retail theft operations at large stores

PSPD

The Palm Springs Police Department’s IMPACT unit, aimed at community-oriented policing and problem-solving, has been working tirelessly to spread a clear message that retail theft WILL NOT be tolerated in this community!

Over the past two weeks, the PSPD’s IMPACT team has conducted three retail theft operations at large corporations such as Walmart, Home Depot, and Burlington, the department announced on Wednesday.

The operations led to 8 arrests, including five suspects for shoplifting, two for trespassing, one for burglary, and one for a laundry list of charges including shoplifting, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of narcotics while armed, and more.

In addition to finding proactive strategies for street-level crime, the PSPD’s IMPACT Unit is all about outreach and education, working to make Palm Springs a safer and better place for everyone.
