California Desert Association of Realtors release in-depth analysis of local real estate market

The California Desert Association of Realtors has released its in-depth analysis of the economic landscape and trends shaping the valley's real estate market.

Projections for our housing markets suggest improvement from last year.. with an estimated 70-thousand more transactions this year than last year.

Real estate experts say the prediction of lower interest rates will drive buyers back into the market.. unlocking supply.

So, the mood is optimistic.

"So what would your advice be to someone who is thinking about buying or selling a home right now? Should they wait or jump right in?" Peter Daut asked Susan Marshall, president of the California Desert Association of Realtors.

Marshall answered, "They should jump on it, for a lot of reasons. Buyers are out there, inventory is low, low, low. We need listings. We need places for people to have choices."

Peter asked, "Are you seeing price drops?"

"Not necessarily. In the last month, we've actually seen increases. So it hasn't been a slashing of prices because of interest rates. For the most part, properties are holding their own," Marshall said.
